Guy wanted answers and obviously wasn’t getting them from recruiters so reached out to peers. Makes sense to me.
This wasn’t necessarily in relation to him, even though it appears he hasn’t spoken to his recruiter in a while.
It’s more as a whole. People see results are out and then just wait anxiously for their busy recruiter to call them, if that makes sense

There are multiple avenues to get answers as an applicant, recruiter out, call the processor, there is always a processor on hand, the processor can either route the candidate to another OR right then, or have them talk to the OPO/OACR. If by chance the processor doesn't answer a person can walk into the local recruiting office who odds are will be able to call HQ right then to get an answer.

Anyone know how long you have after being notified to accept the designator? My recruiter let me know that I was selected last Monday however he has been out on leave and I haven't been given a date to go into the office to sign the paperwork to accept my selection.
I went in a couple days after receiving the call to sign paperwork/accept the designator. If you still haven't heard anything by next week you can probably call the office to figure out when you can go in.

I need insights on something, my Recruiter said I was good for the MAY 05 board waaaay yonder ago. I believe I'd gotten everything together and submitted back in late feb/early march.

I messaged him briefly on April 29th asking if the board for the 5th was still on due to rumors of it being cancelled, he said yes that it was still on.

I called him today since I had not heard from him since the results dropping, he said something along the lines of 'I wasn't a part of the May 05 board' or 'because of circumstances I'll have to be a part of the next board in August' - This has sort of worried me because he didn't seem entirely sure when I asked.

Some buddies of mine across a few branches speculate that maybe he just didn't get me in by deadline and thought he had.

I on the other hand am worried that I didn't get selected but for some odd reason I'm not being told so... I don't believe so, just worries.

Anyone maybe have any insights on what it could've been? Or why this might've happened?

Did you ask for details in terms of "circumstances"?

No, I didn't want to come off as confrontational as I'd made the call the moment I woke up so I wasn't really thinking objectively. Was just trying to figure out if I was given the thumbs up or thumbs down only to be given a hidden 3rd option.

It's past the offices working hours so I can't contact him atm but I plan on calling him tomorrow for clarification as well as some other questions I have.

Is there anything you believe I should ask?

I wouldn’t ever end a recruiter discussion without your questions answered and details fully clear. There is nothing wrong with asking follow on questions if something doesn’t remain clear or something is brought up requiring more details or discussion. I would also ask your recruiter to put timelines on things, if they balk just say, “Hey can I reach out and follow up every 2-3 weeks?”.

When I was recruiting I always kept open and consistent comms with the applicant, even if there was bad news to provide. I would dumb down the process so I didn’t confuse applicants with words like “proboard”, “PROREC”, “FINSEL”, etc. I would also set the tone with timelines and the process, “I’ll try to follow up no later than two weeks if not sooner”. “I expect this will take a week…”

For you, if CNRC cut off applications or someone didn’t submit your application on time, I feel at the very least information should be candid and not just “circumstances” were mentioned.

Lastly, recruiters have cell phones these days. I’m not saying call/text at 10pm, but if you work a busy 9-5 schedule there is nothing wrong with sending a text and/or call right after that.

I would do the exact same thing.

I know not everyone has the same experiences with recruiting but my current recruiter is just as detail oriented and forthcoming as recruiting guru and ex officer recruiter are. While I know some of the terminology from floating around this forum and have referenced it to her, it’s clear that she’s conscious of her verbiage and explains things in a way that’s easy to follow, and we’ve only met in person once but welcomed all my questions and followed each answer with “what other questions do you have”. I hope everyone gets to have that type of experience! And major props to the recruiters like that

What about active duty? I got my call from Triad but nothing about signing any paperwork. I also have PCS orders that need to be canceled.
My Divo showed me an email chain from my CO,XO,CMC talking to BM1 the Accession’s processor saying that my package is being forwarded for final approval and should see orders in 20-30 days
