That helmet cam/display system is hideous! However, it will be sure to strike fear in any enemy who sees photos of the pilots in propoganda leaflets that rain down pre-bombing.

Hopefully they give good helmet, too.
So this means if a JSF crash lands and the pilot gets out, people are going to think it's Independence Day...

:icon_tong I can see it know. Those guys will be declaring emergencies just like the HUD cripples. My favorite of all time is a CAVU Case 1 recovery with some Hornet Noob calling emergency becuase he has no HUD. What the really big attitude lines (read: the actual horizon) won't tell you which way is up? :icon_tong
Some folks will try anything for LSO sympathy (in grading). Of course, HUD is critcial to Hornet Top Ten performance
is every model getting this helmet? or just the Bravo?
Two things-
1) The Helmet is GOUGE! Once you fly with it, there's absolutely NO going back! You are simply one LETHAL MoFo with the Helmet.
2) HUD in Hornet is Primary Attitude Indicator, but no one should PULE during daytime ops if it ain't there. Nighttime, totally different story!
