Yeah my first skipper there got relieved for having to much fun.Man, that is sad to think about. When I deployed with them in our air wing, as an E squadron at that point, walking into their ready room was like walking into a public library. No music, no energy, just nothing. To be fair, their skipper at the time was legitimately elderly, and I heard that he shut down the notion of any noise or fun ever happening. But it was a very long way from what you probably remember. Hopefully they have gotten some fighter spirit back in the intervening years.
I don’t get the A7?Couple of old ones.
Terrain Following Radar. Fun fact the A-7 TFR program formed the basis of the terrain avoidance system in the AF MH-53 Pave Low program. The GOAT of military Helo programs!I don’t get the A7?
And the GOAT of NMC rates, as I have mentioned prior. The GOAT of military Helo programs!
The A-7 radar was great for mapping & targeting and supposedly had a Terrain Following capability.......which was marginal at best, and no pilots trusted it. The patch has a tree with the top partially cut off.....as in the radar didn't quite provide enough clearance.I don’t get the A7?
