Naval Astronaut (Aviator) CAPT John Young & CAPT Bob Crippen landed the orbiter Columbia for the 1st time in history on STS-1 from its 1st test flight in orbit.

I never get tired of watching that. While I worked at JSC one of the senior managers told me how during the first launch of Columbia they had the angle of attack off a few degrees and they put way more stress on the wings than they had expected. They changed the launch profile to reduce the AOA to more acceptable levels. I also got to fly one of the shuttle sims while I was there, the transition from the 21 degree nose down angle during the approach to the roundout/flare was a lot more rapid nose up pitch than I anticipated the first time. Second approach went much better....
