A couple of questions about application process

My name is Justin. I am currently applying for OCS, hoping to get selected for a flight slot. I had a few question that I was hoping some of you may be able to answer for me. Thanks for your help before hand.

-I have been taking practice ASTBs and I was curious if anyone knows how percentage of answers correct correlate to selection scores?

-I have read a number of post on here about guys who are selected for OCS and have to wait almost an entire year before there class date. Is this common? What is the typical time between selection and OCS entrance? I am getting my package together so I should go up with the March board. I am graduating in August and was hoping to select into a September class, is this possible?

Thanks again for responses from anyone who has any insight.

I don't know the answer to your first question, but for your second:

Yes, it is possible. I was selected in January with a class date in September '08, because on my application I asked for that - need the time to finish my MS. (There's a section that asks when you would be ready to go.)

Sure.

1. They take your % correct scores and compare them to everyone else who took the test in the past, let's say 6 mos maybe. They combine the section scores in different ways, and rank you by percentile against everyone else who took it in, let's say the last 6 mos. The scores for each rating correspond to which block of percentiles you fall under.

2. After you're selected, unless you requested a later date, the main reason you'd wait longer is if you have waivers that need to be taken care of, pretty sure on this one.
