A- Pool?

i see some people on the forum with titles that say A-pool.. is that post-OCS/pre-Primary junk?... what's it mean?

A pool is the purgatory that awaits you after OCS, ROTC or the Academy and before API. Wait times can be anywhere from weeks to months. Make the best of this paid vacation. Its a great shore tour with great pay and not alot of work.

where does this take place and what exactly do you do during this "vay-k", are there B, C, D-etc-pools?

You'll get stashed (survival pool, watchstander, museum, flight management/student control, etc). Its better to be stashed cause on your day's off during the week, all you have to do is phone muster. Atleast that was how it was during my time there. It was so money. Go to work in the morning. Grab your surfboard on the way to the beach. It was a tough life.

They really don't call the other pools B, C, etc. There's a pool at primary and advanced most of the time. But, you just get stuck in "the pool."
