Not so sure but I assume A-pool is the holding unit upon checking in at API down at Pensacola. I have completed IFS and will report to Pensacola sometime in June after TBS. Can anyone tell me what the current wait time is for starting up API once you report to Pensacola. Any info is greatly appreciated........................

I'll roger up to what Kbay said. I hit Pensacola for API and waited only long enough for my flight physical to be done. It was even faster when I got to Corpus for primary, and I started five days after I checked in, which isn't as great as it sounds, trust me. Especially when you consider that the average Navy individual has at LEAST a one month wait to start primary here. I could have used the time to start reading my pubs.

Do you hit up your primary squadron and hold for a start date after API or do you wait in like a C-Pool in NAS P'cola? Just curious, thanks.

When I finished API a few months ago they sent me straight to Corpus and I waited here, but I hear they've started up the C-pool again, so you never know. Also depends on where you're going for primary.

Hey guys,
How quick can one of us Air Force types expect to wait to get started? I really wouldn't mind sitting around PCola for a while and get paid. Thanks

Charlie Pool after API is currently at most a week, and that is mostly due to volunteers. I just finished up the fourth week of API, and have orders (or rather, will recieve them shortly) to report to Corpus NLT 28 MAR after graduating on 25 March. Dont know what the wait time to start primary is upon arrival at Corpus, but I hear it is almost nothing for Navy folks...confirmation?

Correct, the wait time at Corpus is just about nil right now. A class of 20 just started last Friday. One guy I know in it got here on 6 Mar and started 11 Mar.

Navy SNAs going to Whiting check in immediately after API and then get put in a pool of some sort to wait to start primary; Marines just start right away. Navy studs from my API class waited just a little more than 3 months to start. Of all the AF studs I know, I don't know anyone who waited more than 2-3 weeks (until VT-3 came around in the rotation again).

AF start API ASAP and Primary w/o any wait whatsoever. There are things that can slow you down (IFT, in my case) but mostly you'll jump right into it.

in the mean time and in between time

So for SNFO's stayin' here in Pensacola, the wait in between API and Primary is pretty short? Anyone just start up that can let me know? Thanks.

When I was in Pcola my roommate was an NFO, and he started Primary the following Monday after API. Same with the guys in my API class.
