AC2 pursuing OCS

I constantly read threads of people that submit their packages with their scores. Most of you guys are civilians going to OCS. Is there anyone out there that made it, or is putting for a package currently on active duty?

I am reading the threads and I think my package is very weak. I am an Air Traffic Controller 2nd class with 8 years in the navy and these are my stats. Someone help me out here and let me know the harsh reality of what I should expect once I put my package in thanks.

Bachelors in Applied Science. Concentration area: Air Traffic Control. TESC
2.67 low...

ASTB

4/5/5 and 47 again low

Currently enrolled in Embry Riddle for my master's Degree. GPA 3.0 (1 class with a B)

LOR:
1 from congressman Jeff Miller
2 from O-5's

good write ups from O-3 O-3 and O-4

good CO recommendation.

Do I have any chance with these low scores? Thanks.

Nothing anyone can say will give you a definitive answer to whether you'll get in or not. That being said... Bach GPA is non technical and below the often stated competitive 3.0, I doubt the master's degree 3.0 will help you whatsoever, seeing as masters programs are typically two years and you've only taken one class. I doubt that would even be listed on your application.

LOR's are great, but quantitatively you're assessed a lot by your ASTBs. 4/5/5 is low, 47 is low.... though people have been accepted with equally low scores.

Look at threads of pasts boards, such as the one I applied to, October, to get an idea of what stats people applied with and who got accepted for what: http://www.airwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144480&highlight=stats

Like I said, no one is going to tell you yes or no, but all the information you need to make a fair assessment of where you stand is already in the forums.

What is it that you are applying for?

I want to be a pilot. I am currently underway right now. I will take a look. I will probably submit this package as is and retake my ASTB ASAP. It's a little bit hard when you are in sea duty foward deployed to accomplish this hard dream but I will keep to it until I get accepted! Still young and full of energy!:)

Well, I wish you the best of luck. I would highly recommend a retest, but not after giving the test material a serious study. Do as many full length, fully timed practice exams as possible, just like it was the real test. You need two things to do well, correct answers and time management. Practice those two and you will improve your scores.
