well,at least 3 of us. :)

don duval, matt henderson and i were attending a memorial dedication for echo 2/7 at the quantico museum. echo 2/7 lost 88 marines between 1965 and 1970.
don was a platoon commander with echo in '68. i was a fac and weapons platoon commander with 1/1 in 1970.

the staff and students made us feel like we just left.

You mean the Hawkins room is still there? Thought they tore down the whole building? Or did they just leave that part of the building and the chow hall/subway?

$2.50?
our whole platoon could have gotten shit faced for that in '68.[/URL]

Yup. At the Cecil EM club (60's) happy hour beer was $.10 a can.:) Plus we had go-go dancers.:icon_wink

Steve

Gas was also $0.34/gallon, the average cost of a new house was somewhere between $15-25K, and McDonald's burgers went for $0.18/each.

best thing about '68,

i was a 21 year old nail eatin', tack shittin' super stud. God's gift to adoring and grateful women.

why, i had them lubricating to the knees... used to slide them across the floor like a slug.
:)
