Age waivers?

I'm just curious and since my recruiter is very busy supporting 3 major cities for his area, I'll asking him when he gets back but I'll be going back to the field here soon for another month and need some peace of mind.

Question) Is age waiverable for applicants in other active services?

Reasoning behind the question is that it says age 31 is the cutoff for prior service but I'm active in another service and I'm 30 and about to come down on orders to deploy again here soon. When I get back I'll be 31 and since my duty position is very important to ground combat I have to go and just wondering if I can possibly get the cutoff age for fleet applicants (34 for SWO, NFO).

Again asking opinions from anyone with the knowledge.

Age is waiverable for applicants in other active services. I'm running into this problem because I want to apply for pilot age 29. I am currently 28 ½, however, by the time I graduate and will be able to ship off to OCS I would be over 29 by the time I graduate OCS. HQ said I would not receive a waiver to be able to apply for pilot but I could apply for NFO. Basically you won't receive a waiver if you go over the age limit during OCS currently. That being said it has happened in the past but that's what I'm being told is current policy. I hope this helps.

I'm 30 now and on Active duty. I'm good as it stands right now but I'm possibly deploying soon and I'll be 31 after that. I just want to keep my boys safe then head off to OCS if it's possible. By the time the OCS board happens I won't be on any orders to deploy but my concern is it might happen while I'm waiting for my final select.

Your FS shouldn't take as long as most on this site. You are currently active duty so if you get a Pro-Rec then I would expect a FS to occur in a respectable amount of time. At least that is how it has appeared in the past. The fleet applicants typically get FS before civilian applicants.

Roger that, but fleet applicants get until age 34 for NFO/SWO according to the sheet I read. I was wondering if I could get that same age limit since I'm active Army or would I have to decline the deployment, which I don't want to do, to go to OCS?

I just want to keep my boys safe for another tour then go on to better things. It's all speculation, first let me get my foot in the door first then we'll see. I'm just worried I'll be ruled out as too old.

Thanks for the reply though, it gives some perspective.
