Airforce 2022 OTS Board October/November

Trying to gauge what is happening. I have an OCS application in for the Navy for this month, waiting to hear the results. However, a few months ago I reached out to a recruiter from the Airforce to see if I could be competitive now that I have my Private Pilot's License and they were enthusiastic to get my application started. I went through the whole process, they took my medical paperwork from the Navy, my ASTB pilot score is an 86, my PCSM's score was an 88. (They say competitive scores are in the 70's) GPA was low but they said I would be competitive regardless because of my testing scores, pilot's license, and the fact I have a letter of recommendation from an Airgaurd base commander. We were getting close to the application deadline which was September 22nd, I completed everything possible, application, meps, testing, LOR's etc. All he had to do was just put it together and submit it. (Another recruiter said I needed an interview but wasn't sure if that was before or after the board date) but the last week before the application deadline I kept reaching out to the recruiter and he wasn't responsive, giving excuses as well like "sorry I was at the hospital with my daughter". I reached out to the administrator on the Airforce's main website, he gave me information to another recruiter and he never returned my call. Basically, we put in so much work to get everything for my application and during the last week I get ghosted by everyone. Was there more to be done and they knew we didn't have time to complete it? A mutual friend and prior pilot for the Airguard said that right now the Airforce hasn't received they're budget so they're not allowed to reach out to me right now. Anyone else applied for the Airfoce's board for November or has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Didn't realize this was exclusively Navy. Do you know of an Airforce forum?

I’ve heard of one years back but forgot the name. I could have confused it with something else.

Google might have better luck. Also, I’m sure there’s some sort of Air Force and / or Air Force related Reddit sub out there.

Sorry to hear that. Back in 2009-2011 I was in the same situation as you. It takes forever to actually get your package in front of a board with the AF. The Navy is much quicker for some reason.

The USAF also allocates their pilot spots much different than the USN, in the USN it is essentially a split between OCS, USNA, and NROTC. In the USAF it is USAFA, then AFROTC, and IF there are any leftover spots they go to the OTS pool. There have been many years where there were no spots left for OTS.

Most of the AF forums died out because Noone really managed them. Bots kept getting in and spamming posts and it was eventually taken down. r/airforceots and myairforcejourney (a website and FB page) were active and had really good information as of 2 years ago.
