I can't really complain because i get paid on time every month and my prootions (e-3 to e-4 and e-4 to e-5) have gone through quickly, but...

I argued and raised hell for two years about my "Pay Entry Date" since i was selected for BDCP in 2002. They have been paying me as if i had 0 years instead of 6. I called Mr. Walters at NAS Pensacola who quickly fixed my time in service date, but it has been a month and i still don't have my $4400 in back pay...My latest LES shows the correct years of service (6.5 years) but i am still being paid as an E-5 with less than 2 yrs service.

Anyone have advice other than "hurry up and wait". They said it could take 1 week or 3 months to get squared away...i have already spent the 4k!

Sounds like you counted your chickens before the eggs hatched. We are waiting still on my husbands back pay from January.

I had tons of problems with my pay. TONS. To get it all fixed I had to call the "local" PSD office, which is hundreds of miles away from me or I would have gone in person. Your PSD (it is PSD, right? I'm not current on all the acronyms yet) Anyway, your PSD is the best place to get stuff fixed. You can speak to a real person who might actually give a d*mn whether you get your money. There are people there whose job description is handling pay issues, they should fix you right up. I hope you get it all figured out soon, good luck.

I'm still waiting on my first paycheck from April... They say June 15 at earliest...

I started getting paid month on the 15th, actually on the fourth I just never checked my account to see any activity. My OSO secretary took my papers down there personally (See went down there for other reasons) and she kept calling back to make sure that my name was in the system. Hey your headin for a hell of a back pay check though. My money doesn't seem to last long enough 956.23 after taxes every twice a month. I love it.

When and how often are we supposed to get paid? I just started getting paychecks and they're still coming through my recruiter, so I have no idea when to expect them as soon as they process my direct deposit stuff.

Side question for Ben...what is the BAH for College Station?

Your recruiter cuts you a check? That's odd; my recruiter told me it HAD to be direct deposit.

Anyone know how long it takes for promotion paperwork to get put through? My friend has been pro-rec'd <intel> and he just finish his physical and will send in his final docs soon.

I think he just gets the check mailed to him. I've filled out the direct deposit form but I was told it wouldn't take effect until the second check - but even that is a real check, so I'm not sure what's going on.

yeah, my first check was a hard check...it was 2 weeks pay plus a partial since i signed the dotted line 26 July. It has been like clockwork for nearly two years...just been underpaying me the whole time!

My pay as an E-3 including BAS, BAH in nashville TN was approximately 960 every 2 weeks...as an E-4 was about 1060. now as an E-5 it is 1260. These are numbers for someone with under 2 years service...that is why they owe me 5k in backpay!

Kinda sucks...when i go to OCS in one month i will take a paycut. My living arrangements cost me WAY less than the amount of BAH they give me...plus i have to leave my cushy gov't job (internship) i have had for 2.5 years!

Not sure how much backpay i got because the midmonth statement from DFAS is not detailed...but i will receive some of it on the 15th!

Part of it will go to get my car tuned to approx 460 rear wheel HP and 470 ft-lbs torque (2.75RR supercharger pulley, idler, and custom dyno tune)! It will look really fast parked in candidate parking for 3 months :(

My roommate thinks that since the BAH money is for housing that I should put it all toward rent (and then she'd only have to pay about $100)...

Yeah, right...

I wish they would send us a stub at least telling us how much we got paid and how much they took out in taxes.
