API/Primary waits...

After weeks of asking around TBS, I thought I would ask here. Does anyone currently at API or Primary have any info on the approximate wait for classing up at API after TBS? The MOS mixer was more or less usesless in terms of this specifically (though the free beer was nice), and I'm trying to get some gauge on a typical timeline with things as they are in terms of flight school backups. Any info would be much appreciated... thanks-

To give you an idea..... Alpha company Lts that graduated at the beginning of June are still waiting to class up for API - the last of them aren't slated to go until mid January. Bravo Company starts in mid-January and goes on - you have close to a hundred Lts from that Company that still need to start. I've heard that Charlie most likely won't start until may, but they have far fewer Lts with air contracts.

Usually there are 6-8 Marines per API class. The last 3 or 4 classes had between 10 and 12 Marines. Doing the math makes for a depressing situation.

Expect just what McConnell said, good gouge, and then expect about a month wait between API and Primary...

Waiting for API will be the big one though.

You can volunteer for stash jobs, funeral detail, and any other opportunities that pop up. You'll probably stand duty once or twice (a 24-hr duty, I was lucky enough never to have it). Otherwise, just enjoy your freetime because once you hit API, you'll be running on all cylinders.

Oh, and last I heard was that they were putting a stop loss on API for a month or two due to Primary being so backed up. So anyone starting after the Christmas holidays would have to wait another month or two. Can anyone confirm this?

I heard that Maj A wanted to hold everyone to tighten up the pipeline and reduce the wait time, but then most of Bravo got bumped up to January and Feb. So now we're getting in sooner. Im Vance, so I was supposed to start end of Jan ahead of most B Co. Now theres 8 of us slated to start on the 27th. The only thing I know is that they had all B Co fill out sheets at formation Fri to state what reasons we have to stay at Whiting, and what we've volunteered for. So.. looks like there might be a Corpus draft!
