API Quick Class Up (AF)

Well,

Just got off the phone with the AF Liaison. Told him that I have a Report No Later Than Date of 14 Jun 06. Without even asking, he looks me up in the system, recognizes that I don't need to attend IFS, and then tells me that there is a high probability that I could be starting class around 21 Jun 06. That is a 1 week wait. This sound right to you all? If we have guys sitting around right now waiting for class...shouldn’t I be put on the "back burner" until everyone else who has been waiting in line gets bumped up?

It sounded to me like there are very few AF guys like myself who are showing up in his system (who are currently waiting for API). He even added that I might be in the "first class" (21 Jun 06).

Any thoughts?

My buddy that showed up two Mondays ago was told three weeks wait before API. I show up 24 April and will pass on the info he gives me at that time. We are both IFT complete.

I'm pretty sure that the "long" wait for AF dudes is after API right now, but I've heard that even that is starting to get cut back thanks to an abundance of IPs in VT-3.

VT-3 now has a good amount of IPs to handle the stud load. Now studs are finishing ground school and starting training within a week, vice the 8-9 weeks I had to wait last year.

AF guys class up right away. It is the Navy guys that have to wait around. I have a friend who has been waiting since Aug. He didn't start IFS until Nov, and finished Early Jan. He just started API last week.

The wait changes from week to week. This week IFS complete guys may be classing up right away but next week it will be a 4-5 week wait. Best thing to do is be good to go when you get down here, that way if you class up right away you are ready, and you have a few weeks to enjoy the beach if you don't.
