API starting in march/april

Hi, I am a German Air Force Officer and I am planed as a WIZZO. We train our WIZZOs/NFOs in Pensacola, hence I will arrive in Pensacola at March 17th. After about two weeks of paperwork and such stuff API should start in the last days of march or in the first days of april.

Is there already anybody who is also schedulled for that API-class?

I'll be starting API somewhere around there. It's hard to say when, though, because a class starts every week and I don't know exactly when I'll be done with IFS.

Are you slated for F-4's or Tornados, or do you know yet? I guess the Luftwaffe doesn't need any [real] old F-4 RIO's, do they?

Tornado most likely. 99.99% :icon_tong

We still need some F4 RIOs but we do´n`t train them anymore. API starts every week? I didn`t knew that I thought every four weeks or so...

You would work quit a lot here. They started to reduce Wizzos in the late 90`s because we expected the (singleseater) Eurofighter to come in service pretty soon. However, there were several delays and we are years behind the plan with the whole stuff. Except with the backseaters. We are that short with them now that in our fighter wings frontseaters get a introduction in the backseat and (try to) do the job.

Yes, because there is no one left who says them every 10 sec. that they are the coolest guys on earth :D

By the way: Is there one of the guys above ^ living at Austin Wood apartment complex at the moment? It would make learning easier to have someone in the course who lives right next door.

I check into A-pool on the 4th of April, no IFS to do, so probably I'll class up fairly soon after that

I don't know if you're in the US yet, but...

Most of (if not all of) the German studs live in Austin Wood, or at least they did as of last July.

Yes, almost all live there, but you usually arrive in Pensacola together with another German student. My mate already busted a earlier part of training (that means I´m alone) and it would be nice to have someone from the same course next door. Makes communication and the flew of information much easier.
The last Germans arrived last September, so there is a quite long gap.
