On Tuesday I am doing the final paper work to apply for a marine aviation contract and running a PFT. I scored a 6/7 on the astb, have a 3.18 GPA in ME at VMI and I am hoping to score around a 265 to a 275 on the PFT. My OSO sounds very promissing for me getting contracted. Is there any thing that I should know before signing the papers. Any last minute advise. I am a little confused about the terms SNA and NFO being thrown around the site. Do these not apply to me because i am Marine option or what? Any advise about signing the contract would be great. Any loop holds or anything. Any benifits that come with the PLC program. Thanks.

Once you get the flight guarantee, you should be good to go. Of course, you could always poke out an eye while patrolling the Quantico highlands, some of the douche bags even wore safety goggles. For the lingo, you will be a student naval aviator (SNA), the MOS designator at TBS is 7599. For the naval flight officer (NFO), you will have a similar designator 75xx, I forget the exact number.
The guys you go through TBS with will be flight contract, Law contract, or open ground. At TBS, you will be known as a 7599, in P’cola, you will be known as a SNA or SNFO. Make sure you know whether your signing up to be an NFO or SNA, there is a pretty big difference.
Your stats sound just find. The only loophole I ran into is that once you are commissioned, you won’t get a paycheck until you report to active duty at TBS. A six month to year wait wouldn’t be out of the ordinary...just something to throw in the back of your mind.
