I have seen multiple types and revisions of the 1420.1a application.

I am currently enlisted and applying for the OCS program.

Which one am I suppose to be using? To me it seems I'm suppose to be using the first link. I was scoping out the motivational mega thread and saw everyone's MS being at 400 words. The 1420.1a is only at 250. Just want to make sure I am using the correct form and version.

Fleet applicant board question

My command sent my package down to millington on March 5th. It was received and reviewed a processor on the 8th. He stated i needed to talk to my OCM to grant the age waiver. That was completed and returned back to this individual.

My question is how do I know what month my package will be reviewed by the community boards? Is there a notification somehow? I know its a waiting game but I would like to know when to expect the results.

Thank you!

What communities are you applying for and through what program, STA-21? Waiting for an important step in your future is hard, but you're likely not going to get a precise date for the results to be published. Best you can hope for is when a board for a certain community meets and know it can't be before then and it will be sometime afterwards when results are approved and entered into "the system". Check out out threads here that talk baout prior boards and announcement of results and you'll see it's a waiting game.

Navy Board Question

How do you know if you have not been accepted? Is there an official letter of rejection?

Good muster guys.
I can't be sure because I was lucky enough to get selected, but I do know my recruiter knew that I got accepted WAY before I got any letter. So if there is a rejection letter I would imagine that your recruiter will know before you would even get it. Call him and ask him if the results are out and when they are if not.

At least it makes logical sense.

It appears as though most people call their recruiter as soon as first word comes from someone that they were either selected or not selected because their OR contacted them or the individual has been calling them constantly.

I could of swore I posted this response earlier. I am applying for the OCS program under the designators of SNA & NFO. My package was accepted by Millington and reviewed the week of March 8th.

yes there is a rejection letter. i first applied for PAO and was a nonselect which i found out initially from my recruiter over the phone. When i said i wanted to reapply for SWO, she said we had to wait until the official nonselect letter was posted, which she emailed me a copy of. basically, it was like a college rejection letter, saying we appriciate your interest and desire to be a naval officer, please don't let this discourage you the officer program is highly competitive, blah blah blah. trying to let you down easy..haha

i'm hoping to NOT get another one of those...

Buck, the word limit is 250 words. The 400 is for civilian applicants only. Contact the fleet processor for a recent copy of the word format or you can shoot me a PM for it, though the version I have is for the 1420.1A... 1B is the latest and greatest on the street. I don't believe there are any differences between the two apps, more so in the requirements (such as a tattoo waiver)
