I had no such questions last week. Closest thing to that was what aircraft should be used in close ground support, the choice was obvious and even more so as the other choices were bogus names. But there are many different test forms so who knows.

There are 3 Forms. All forms have a Math, Reading/Comprehension , Mechanical, Nautical/Aviation, Spacial, and then a random section relating to one of the previous sections sans Spacial.

Did you take the ASTB or the ASVAB? Because the ASTB has its own section dedicated to Aviation and Nautical information.

The answers are: 1 b, 2 c, 3 c ... j/k.

Study it all man. If you are going for an aviation slot, this should be interesting to you. And yes, if you search you will get a few individual questions, but your time may be better spent studying then sifting through years of posts to find a question that you have a third of a chance getting.

Click below for an ASTB overview... it's the Marine gouge and is pretty close to what is on the actual test.

Make sure that you know the major aircraft that Navy and Marines use, and their functions.

I don't remember much, if any, Naval History on the test, but just to be safe I would learn some of the big moments and names.

Don't spend to much time on any one question and if you are taking all sections, make sure that the Spatial Apperception part of the test is automatic, otherwise you will get stuck on this part and likely not finish it (25 questions in 10 minutes) Good luck!

no PT scores yet but lets simulate: 10:30 run/80 pushups, 100 curlups

how competitive am i at this stage?

next semester i should be over a 3.00gpa with the classes from this semester and i should hopefully have 7's across the board on the astb and atleast a 60 OAR.

Those scores aren't bad, but now that you know what to expect you should take it again. I see you're a junior, are you applying for BDCP or direct OCS? Because your GPA is below 3.0 right now you need the ASTB to make up the difference, but if your package is complete and you want to apply now you should.

If you don't get selected I would wait for this semesters grades to bring up your GPA along with some 7's on the ASTB before re-applying.

Well Im no expert, but the question is does it really matter if you submit now as opposed to in a month.

You can retake the ASTB 31 days after your original date, so you'd be looking at around mid-november. This might also allow you to get better PT scores and bump those up slightly.
