Astb & Faa

Hey guys it's me again. I am planning on taking the ASTB next friday and was wondering if there is anybody out there that has recently taken the ASTB. If so, I am trying to find out if there is alot of questions on the exam about FAA rules and regulations. I have done alot of studying on nautical information and how an aircraft basically flies. Again, I was a former Marine, and served on a MEU, which I believe has helped me with the Naval terms etc. that you need to know. Is there anything else out there I can study that would really make a huge impact towards getting good scores?

Thanks,
Andrew F. Gosselin Jr.

I'm sure if you've searched you've found the metric assload of ASTB gouge on this site. It's good stuff. Other than that, I don't believe there are any FAA rules whatsoever on the ASTB unless you consider the color of taxiway/runway lights and crap like that to be a "rule" (all you sea lawyers with your FARs ready to smack me can relax :D).

I don't remember any FAR stuff being on the ASTB. It's all much more basic than that, I'm sure they assume most people taking it haven't studied FARs at all.

One question did have FAA regs in it. It was something like "What safety factor for a utility aircraft is required by FAA regulations?" I put 2.4...I already PM'd Drew and told him why I picked it.

Wow...that's just a douchebagish question unless the other options were all less than 1.

I just took the test 3 weeks ago. There were no questions about FAA. The biggest tip I can give you is to make sure that you hae speed and accuracy down. My speed greatly affected the outcome of my test scores. If you still hae time, work on taking the practice tests and timing yourself. Do them over and oer again. I am actually going to take the test again because I was affcted by the time issue and I know that I can score higher and get that issue solved. Good luck dude!

p.s. make sure you can add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions...I had alot of those.
