ASTB Last ATTEMPT

Hello,
I am an upcoming 1/C with service selection happening in September. I have taken my ASTB 2 times and took about 8 months from try 1 to try 2 to study. I did all the forums, the apps I could find, even bought a stick and throttle. My scores are 4/5/5 and I was shocked considering I felt confident throughout the test. My gpa is a 3.56 in Biomedical Engineering with a high PRT and ranked 2nd in my unit. Mostly everyone who is commissioning with me have a high ASTB and all are putting pilot first. I plan on putting NFO as my first but I am unsure if I should retake it and use my last try. I truly am not sure if I could do better considering I felt prepared the last time and did not do great. Do we think I should take a risk and submit those scores in hopes for a NFO spot or use my last try and risk not even having a passing score?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Suggest you talk to your aviation advisor and even your graduating peers to see what stats they had and where you stack.

You can probably find a few service selection post threads on here as well. Good luck!

I just want to offer this, one of my good friends was one of the smartest people I knew in college. high 3 gpa in mechanical engineering, part of the engineering fraternity, Lockheed Martin program etc. however, he could not pass the ASTB for the life of him so he ended up as a SWO. So far is having a great career so don’t think of it as a penalty or punishment. Grow where ever you are planted.
