ASTB Practice Tests?

Can anyone point me to a good place for ASTB practice tests and/or study guides for mechanical and aviation sections? The math/verbal is easy to find, others harder.

I thought the mechanical on the actual ASTB was quite a bit different from the ARCO and the marine gouge. Not a lot of numbers, more about concepts that you'd find from a course in physics. Any studying helps though!

Gouges are no substitute for Knowledges.

Its an APTITUDE test.. Not a cram-pump-dump test.

If you are sweating the ASTB that bad (nothing wrong with knowing what to expect) how the hell are you going to deal with API, Primary, Advanced, RAG and the Fleet?

Im not arguing with you MB but the sat is an apptitude test too...that doesnt mean you cant study for it. Besides this guy is gonna cry himself to sleep after he sees his scores if you tell him he either has it or he doesnt. I got like a 4 5 5  on my first attempt and then took it a second time after studying for a few months and got a point away from perfect. im not tryin to say im awesome and im gonna be the best pilot ever, I definitely know its just a test and it doesnt mean anything, im just saying studying does help...at least in my experience.

Let me know how well that works when you go NORDO IFR.

I figured that would (I hope) fall under the category of "shit you should know," whether you are going to be tested or not!

I'm talking about things like traffic school, or all that comparative politics info I just absorbed for my East Asian Conflict final.

Besides, with prep for everything these days, you're an idiot NOT to sweat / prep anything with "aptitude" or "standardized" in front of it. You're behind the curve if you don't! And that isn't paranoia, I promise, it's reality.

so bc im asking for gouge that means im cramp-pump-dumping it? I want to be as prepared as i can be, so your telling us that every pilot out there had it or he/she didnt, it should come natural and never have to study for it?

I was sweating the ASTB, just because its a must to do good on it. And as for OCS, API, Primary, Advanced, and the RAG....I plan to sweat them all, one at a time :D
