That's kind of a vague question because the competitive level changes often. Not to mention that this is only one of the MANY things the board takes into consideration when looking at your application.

If you're trying to see where you would rank compared to others on this site, go to the Stats and Scores forum, and check out everyone that has posted. Then, you can compare yourself to others (if you have already taken the ASTB), or you can see where you need to be in order to stay at a competitive level. But remember, an 80 on the ASTB does not guarantee you a spot as an Aviator (if that's what you're looking to be). You have to be well-rounded. Study hard for the ASTB, because it is a long test, with little time to complete some sections.

I have a question about the Marine ASTB. My buddy told me that there was no reading comprehension on the test, but the ARCO book shows that there is. Which is correct?

Just want to clarify because I get the impression that this may need clarifying, the ASTB is the same test whether Navy or Marines

Same test between the two. However, there are two forms of the test so you will not get the same test if you take it two times. They alternate the forms on you so you can't just memorize. Spices things up a little, just a little.

The test is the same for Marines and Navy and the test is the same for NFO's and Pilots. Howver, the test is graded differently for NFO's. For example, I just took the test and passed for pilot but did not make the grade for NFO, which is the program that I am applying for due to less than adequate eyesite. The NFO test is graded with emphasis on science and math while the Pilot test is heavy on spacial relations and general flight information. Same test, but different grading formula.
