I hear there's a reading section on the new ASTB. Where and what is a good study for this from those who have taken this portion already? Thanks.

just took it tuesday, should be getting my results back tomorrow. near as i could tell, it was your basic reading comprehension stuff. if you have some of your SAT study stuff from highschool leftover, that might help.
you just read a paragraph and then either pick what was the main point of the reading, or you answer a question. remember, they try to get you with tricky wording and stuff like that. that test is not your friend, don't trust an easy answer.

Thanks Michaels for the info. I have the ARCO Flight Apt Test Book, 6th edition. It has basic stuff like you mentioned. I'll review to make sure. However, my recruiter says that I will be taking the new version at his office (paper version). I thought that the new version was only on the Computer? Any thoughts. I'm hoping it's not the old test 1 and 2 from way back. Thanks again. Good luck on your score. I'm still trying to get my conditional release from the Air Force.

Does the verbal portion of the ASTB contain only paragraph readings or does it also contain word analogies? TY

No verbal analogies. Just reading and then picking the meaning of the paragraph or replacing a word from the paragraph with one that makes sense.

Right...the reading sections are never more than a paragraph on the new form, and I would say the trick is to go with what is GIVEN....if they say the sky is purple in the passage, dont assume its blue...etc...
