Okay, so here is the latest. OAR: 51; AQR: 5. Not the greatest scores,
but will hopefully be enought to get me into the program. I have a bunch of paperwork left to do, but should be done by the end of October. I go to MEPS on 21 October. I was waiting for a waiver to ensure I could close and protect my eye (had one when I enlisted 13 years ago). So, we'll see what
happens. Wish me luck, please. Thanks.

Waiver and Community

Navy History: Enlisted in 1991, boot camp in 1992. Stayed in for 13 years, with my departing rank of IT1(SW). Probably would have made Chief, had I not gotten in trouble back in 2000. I got the joy of staying an E-5 for an additional three years. I went to Captains Mast the month before I was supposed to take the E-6 exam. I ended up telling the truth, but was given a "SP (Significant Problems)" on my departing eval. Had I not gone to mast, it would have been an "EP". The Captain showed me my eval, then promptly threw it in the trash. Oh well, live and learn. As soon as the three years was up and I could take the E-6 exam with any hope of making it, I was in the 98th percentile. Wish I did that on the ASTB too.

Personal History: Born in 1973. I had a "cystic hygroma" when I was born, basically a tumor on my neck. My first surgery was at three weeks old. I had 11 more surgeries after that. My left eye never could close all the way until my last surgery at age 14(?). But that is only if I force it to. If anyone wants more info, I'll be happy to explain.

When I originally joined, MEPS wanted to make sure I could protect my eye. I got a waiver then, but it isn't any good when you are applying for an officer program. Thankfully, MEPS gave me the thumbs up today. I'm not sure if my recruiter included my note, but I made sure they knew I did six years at sea and a tour in Iraq as an Individual Augmentee in 2004.

So, that's me in a nutshell. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Oops, forgot the community

I am applying to be in the Information Warfare community. I realize this is an aviation forum, my recruiter pointed me to this site. I enjoy the heck out of it. A lot of good gouge.
