ASTB Thanks

I have been on this forum for a while now just trying to take in as much as I could. I just wanted to say thanks for all the resources that are made available not just for the ASTB, but military aviation in general. I took the ASTB a few weeks ago and got 8s across the board so im pretty psyched. Any questions or study material just let me know.

On a different note, I am having a difficult decision making up my mind on which service to go for(Navy or Marine Corps). I have searched around and have found the differences in their missions and have a general idea of the lifestyle. I was just wondering what, if any, differences are there between a pilot in the Navy and a pilot in the Marine Corps once they are within their communities? Was jumping through all the other hoops (PLC, TBS, etc) worth it in the end to be a Marine Officer. Also, does anyone regret or wish they went into the other service after they committed themselves? Any information on this is appreciated. Thanks.

Marine Corps and Navy aviation differences are discussed in a few threads on these forums, just look for 'em.

If you're the type of person that practices regret, then you will probably practice it no matter which path you take. If you aren't, then you will probably thank God every time you get in the cockpit regardless of service.

I can tell you that from my perspective (me being a currently enlisted sailor that will be a Navy pilot) that I found that I wanted to be a mover and shaker in the military, and being an enlisted sailor is not that (with some exceptions). However, I originally joined up for different reasons entirely. I was an "in it for college and them I'm out" type of guy at first, so the Navy perfectly suited my desires when I joined, and it is perfectly suiting my desires now that I have decided to stick around a bit longer.
