Hello everybody, this is my first post, but i've been actively searching and using the boards on this site for about two months to prepare for the ATSB which i just took today. I thought i'd offer what helped me out alot preparing for it. First, the math and reading sections were not that difficult, just go over the problems listed under the marine gouge and the peterson book. Same thing for mechanical. Spatial is definetly tougher than the Arco book tests, although if you go over them enough, you should be fine with the time; I didn't have a problem. The nautical info section wasn't too bad, there are several posts on this site that if you go over them you'll be fine. The final section, the aviation math section or whatever, you'll want to refresh with an SAT II math review or an Algebra II book from highschool or a pre-calc book. I didn't do this and had trouble with a couple because of time factors. Anybody have anything specific, give me a pm.

Best,
Ryan

I took the ASTB and didn't find it that tough (reading and mechanical twisted my brain a little). Little help for the future on the spatial orientation part. Imagine that you are in the cockpit (inside looking out view) and what would happen if you pitched up pulled back on the stick. I am already civilian pilot, and found that if I looked at the problem that way I had an easier time finding the correct answer. Take it for what it is worth. I got a 57 7/8/8 and it wasn't that hard.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. And for those of you with non-technical majors... don't worry, just study the gouge on the site and you'll do fine. I'm a Social Sciences major and thats all I did and ended up with a 67 8/8/8.
