For you Prowler types, a long time EA-6B ECMO and former CO of NAS Pensacola, CAPT Bill Dickson, resides in P-Cola. He is also a former county commissioner and was chairman a couple years ago. I'm sure he'd love a call from one of you asking for some local knowledge as this. I knew him when I was a mid and he was OPS O of VAQ-136, and then ran into him when he was a Prowler CO and NASP CO. He's in the phone book. Great guy. Offer to buy him a beer. He was an original Prowler.

Usually the most reliable mechanic is yourself. If you have a bit of mechanical skill then I would highly recommend taking your car to the auto hobby shop on base. They have people working there who are pretty knowledgeable and are perfectly happy to help you repair your car. I do all my car maintenance myself and I used their auto shop many times.

just so you know, the autohobby shop is not on NAS anymore, its at corry station, sorry I can not give you the name of a GOOD shop, I do all my own work on the Buick and the other two cars are waranteed...

Tuffy's is good from what I hear. I know a few people who do most of their own work, but take their cars to Tuffy's when they can't do the repair themselves.

Great guy with a good head on his shoulders. Took my car there for almost everything. Incredibly fair with labor rates, as well. All his mechanics genuinely seem to enjoy working on cars. Grandfather is an ex Chief and will talk your ear off, but good people all-around.

Highly recommended.
