I just took the ASTB last week, but I did not score high enough on the Aviation and Nautical section. I studied the Gouge and the ARCO book religiously, but on the actual test there were hardly any questions on aircraft. The majority of the section was about boats and navy vessels. Does anyone know of another source that might be helpful for info on boats? I'll be taking the test again in thirty days, and I really need to pass. Thanks in advance for any input.

yea here is a good site . . . i have been studying: arco, gouge, cliff notes and other different books. But by far the best tool for studying nautical i came across is this site: http://www.boat-ed.com/wa/course/p1-3_boatparts.htm

Anyways, i am taking it in 3 days, for the first time and have been studying a lot as well. Can you tell me anything about the aviation supplement section (the last one), and what type of specific nautical info did they ask that varied a lot from ARCO and Gouge? Thanks bud :)

The supplemental section is a mix of everything except spatial apperception. I kind of "panicked" at first because I didn't know it existed, but once I got a few questions in I realized that I had already basically studied for it.

My Cliff book was only good for pacing myself, I didn't have time troubles on any of the sections because I practiced with a stopwatch.
