joerana,

I don't know why?? Usually I just ignore this kinda stuff but your vocabulary has some serious flaws. So I'm just pointing this out as a favor. Planes don't took off from airports, they take off. And if you're talking in past tense, then it's just took off. And they found the plane in the sand dunes, not dooms. Just letting you know.

Ohhh, and apologize to tougs9 for taking this post off topic before he even got one reply.

MCAS Miramar, Calif. -- Military officials in Yuma, Ariz., said on Thursday morning that they had located a missing Marine jet but were still having trouble reaching the wreckage and the aircraft's pilot.

The downed plane was found just south of the town of Glamis, Calif., in Imperial County. The Marine F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet went down near state Route 78 in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreational Area, said officials.

Searchers worked overnight to find the plane, which disappeared late Wednesday night after taking off from the Miramar Marine Air Station on a routine training flight

FYI, just had to give you a hard time joerana, welcome to Airwarriors.

By aviation test, I'm assuming ASTB?

If so, download the practice test from this site (http://www.airwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5804 , go to the second post). I used this as well as searching for information on google about a few of the topics on the test that were not answered well. Also, if you or a friend has some old math and physics books, they help in refreshing your memory on the math and mechanical portions.

The spacial section is not included in this prep test, but if you have a flight simulator, it will help. Just turn down the realism as far as stalling and such (just one less thing to worry about) and look at the horizon as you turn, dive, climb. Do some of these and look at 3rd person view to see what your plane looks like.

Anyway, doing this helped me out a great deal. I just took the test this morning and maxed each section. You may also want to look under the "Commisioning Programs > ASTB" link on the main forum page for more information.
