It looks like is going to be like "Catch me if you can" old italian type concept. I will go and see once it comes out near my house.

Simba Barracuda.
i'll see it, but i'm wondering what they make of hughes. near as i can tell, although he did a lot of great stuff that i'd thank him for if i could, he eventually became a first-grade weirdo. think i read that it was an extreme case of OCD that caused it. they parody him on the simpsons with mr.burns all the time.

plus, not sure if i could find anything to back this up, but i heard he was dangerous in the air, cutting of other planes in the pattern, stuff like that

Wonder if they'll talk about the Glomar Explorer.

I doubt it. From every trailer that I have seen, his character is hyped up as that of somebody who is crazy, but a visionary nonetheless, seemingly only interested in large, fast planes. Any inclusion of the Glomar Explorer, although relevant in the context of his personality and his billionaire status, would require quite a bit of explanation to fit in, I think.

Let us know how it turns out. I was saved from seeing Alexander the Gay because of you all (by the way, thanks). I dont think that I saw it advertised to start in my area this weekend so it will still be a week or so.

Yes. I am a Pirate.
I am going to see it. From what I have seen of the trailers and what I know of the man from biographies, it looks to be a fairly accurate portrayal of Hughes. But I'd have to watch the movie to be sure if it was.

If for anything I am going, to see the H-1 in flight. That is beautiful a airplane. There was fella a few years a go who made an exact replica of the H-1, he did one Oshcosh and Sun N' Fun, before he crashed it killing him and and destroying the airplane last year. In an interview he said that it cost him a little over a million dollars to build and that cost would have been far higher if he had not owned his own machine shop.

The writer of this book is a man named George Marrett. He was a test pilot for Hughes, and knew him for a long time. I personally know this man, and have flown with him. He was allowed to read a copy of the script for the movie and he said it was innacurate and hollywoodized, but still sounded like a pretty good movie.

THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER! 3 HOURS long including previews. About 5 total minutes of flying footage... the rest is Leonardo di Crapio acting like an idiot. Everyone in the theatre was disappointed from what I could tell.

Eh didn't think it was that bad.

If you know nothing about Hughes it could be really interesting, although the entire story really did get glamorized excessively.

But yeah, if you're expecting a flight movie...go watch that Red Flag IMAX movie instead.

Yeah how is that Red Flag IMAX, besides being all Air Force stuff, at least from what the previews showed... anyone seen it?

I thought the Aviator was very good...little long, but very good. Not many in flight shots, but the ones they had were just awesome...I would recommend it.

BTW..everyone got up and started clapping in the theatre that I was in.

Saw it last night. It sucked. You won't get those 3 hours back. It may or may not be historically accurate - I don't know - but if you're looking for realistic entertainment go see something else. The defining scene of the movie is gay ass Leo prancing around a room naked and pissing into empty milk bottles. If you're into that, go see it. If you're into the aviation or historical aspect of Howard Hughes, turn on Discovery Wings or the History Channel and save yourself some money ($10 bucks!).
