Just a heads up for everyone...The History Channel is replaying Band of Brothers today in two segments...one this afternoon and one tonight. Might be a good oportunity to get it on the DVR. Also well worth watching if you haven't had the chance.

I was lucky enough to have someone give it to me on DVD - just adding to scoob's endorsement, it's definitely worth the time. Hell, one day I sat and watched the whole thing back-to-back.

Done that too. Excellent mini-series. Just read the book and would highly reccomend it.

great series, but i'm almost ashamed to admit...i burned my friends DVD set. however, kharma, being the ugly b!t@h she is, caused my burner to explode immediately after i finished copying the 10th episode.

Great series...I've probably seen all of them about three or four times. The episode where they take the town of Foy is probably my favorite.

I can't wait to see the series about the Pacific Theater they're doing now. Should be pretty darn good. See this link for more info: http://www.the-pacific-war.com/

Didn't know about that - thanks for the info, FastMover.

"Why We Fight" is the episode that gets me every time.

Thanks for the heads up Scoob, haven't seen it in quite some time.

I think "The Breaking Point," "Day of Days," and "Crossroads" are my favorites.

If you don't own the boxed set yet, then I would reccomend buying it. I have watched it several times already.

I read the book in college as our "book report" reading for an awesome WWII history class (which also allowed me the opportunity to interview my next-door neighbor, who showed up in the Ardennes Forest three days before the Battle of Bulge at 18 years old, having fired his rifle five times before that--absolutely unbelievable), and it was right about then that the miniseries came out. I watched it in college after I found it, a nugget of testosterone on my roommate's incredibly chick-flick oriented movie shelf. Fantastic series. I could barely stop myself from watching it at times. The interviews--some of them, I must admit, were tearjerkers.

God, I love SDO on Sundays.

Yea absolutly one of the best WWII movies/series ever. I got the box set for christmas, I have watched its o so many times. That Pacific theatre series looks awsome.

Thanks for the heads up. My wife bought a Hajji copy while in Baghdad and it is not your typical bootleg... It's very good...

I hope they still have plans on finishing it up... the "latests news" is over two years old ... what a great way to teach military history about the Euro theater as well as Pacific.
