BDCP and Anxiety

Hello

Back in May of this year I was diagnosed with an anxiety attack. My doctor prescribed me two different medications that I was suppose to be taking, after a week or so I decided to stop taking them because, I had never had any problems with anxiety before, and when I stopped I haven't had any problems since. I really want to get into BDCP but I am afraid that this is significantly going to hurt my chances. I am not on medication now, and I am going to go see my doctor next week to see what he diagnosed me with and if their is anything I can do about it. Since you do have experience I thought you might know a little bit about the subject and what the odds are of me being accepted into the program. I called the officer recruiter today and he said I would have to get my medical records together and let the doctor see them and he would make the call. But as I said before, I just wanted to know what you thought my chances are of still making it.

I had similar issues and made it in. You basically have to get off the meds for a specified time (possibly a year) and get a clean bill of health from your doctor who treated you. There will be a blank asking about this in your ESPQ. It's your call. I could have left it blank since I was a teen and considered a minor, but I was paranoid about showing integrity to the board. If you do decide to include it, make sure you attach the doctor's note to your ESPQ. But as far as Officer programs and depression like ailments go, you aren't out of luck. But this may hold up your application.

Kind of late

I know this is pretty late seeing the posts of the last threads but to your question about "anxiety."

Check out under film videos the carrier takeoff videos.
The last clip the pilot gets a little excited.
Good Luck

You should probably go ahead and make this it's own topic because it has little to do with what we were talking about.

The rule is that you must be off medication and symptom free for a year with documentation saying all is well. You may be able to get in earlier than that but the book answer is a year; send in the app and see what happens.
