Can anyone explain the BDCP thing?... During the recruiting prtocess, that term never came up, so I assume it doesn't affect me at all.

I've sworn in and will attend OCS in Oct. as an SNA...am I a candidate for any Navy benefits prior to my OCS date?

Thanks for the help! -JT

You apply for BDCP when you apply for your SNA (or whatever) slot. It gives you money while in college. I'm surprised your recruiter didn't say anything about it. But no, it doesn't affect you now.

JT,

The BDCP program is for students that are currently in college, and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree. Since you will be attending OCS in October, I am assuming that you have already received your degree. Therefore, BDCP would be of no use to you.

Some of the benefits of BDCP is that you get paid (E-3, E-4, or E-5 rate) until you go to OCS. Other benefits are the exact same as others on active duty (Med, Life Insurance, VA Benefits, etc.)
