BDCP Career Path

I had a question regarding career paths and the BDCP. I met with my recruiter, he is a LT. and runs the regional BDCP recruitment program, told me that as long as you get accepted into the program (BDCP) and state what it is you want, and continue to do well in OCS, you will have a "guaranteed" spot in the program of your choice. Reason why I ask is I am a college football player with 2 years remaining in school and I want to become a Navy SEAL. I was told of BDCP as a possible good route as an officer into BUD/s. Is it true what my recruiter said, that if I am accepted into the BDCP and have requested BUD/s / SEALs after OCS I am guaranteed a spot in BUD/s as long as I continue to do well in the remainder of college and then OCS (both academically and physically). Thanks for the Help

One thing you should remember when applying for any highly selective group- there are NO guarantees.

Yea that is very true. Basically the only way's to give yourself a good shot from what I understand is to score exceptional in the PST/PRT as well as nail the ASTB so there is no room for doubts.

What the LT is saying is that you apply for a specific "job", i.e. Pilot, SEAL, etc. IF you get accepted then you essentially have a guaranteed spot waiting at the school for your job, i.e. flight school, BUDS, etc. Once you get accepted it is your job to lose. You have to make it through OCS, the appropriate school and so forth. The great thing about the application process is that you'll know if the Navy wants you before you make any final commitments, so if you should change your mind you could decline any "job offers".

There is no BDCP SEAL PROGRAM it is not an option never has been and never will be so remember that. so yes you are guaranteed the program you apply for if you go BDCP you have to apply for a program that exist and SEAL is not one of them
