BDCP Final Select questions

If you have been professionally recommended for BDCP SWO what are the chances I will not get selected. Since I was recommended for SWO my first choice will my package still go to the Supply board. Also how long is the wait for final results? From what I understand this is only half of the battle. I have not been able to get a hold of my recruiter he is on emergency leave hoping someone here can help me.

Search function rocks.

but I will help -
The wait time can vary from 2 days to 2 months. There is no set day you will be final selected or not. Pro-rec is like 90% of knowing you made it in. Pass MEPS, your PRT, and your background check and you're golden.

If you were not Pro Rec'd for Supply, you will not be Final Select Supply.
The Pro Rec is what comes from the boards. After that, you only Final Select ONE community, and that is what you will be locked into for th BDCP.

At this point, if you really want Supply and you do not want to go SWO, you can still re-apply in 6 months.

Final Select can take anywhere from weeks to months. I got Pro Rec in July last year and Final Select in September. They have to clear your security clearance, your physical and your PRT scores (from what I remember).

Security Clearence is done

I was prior service and already have an up to date security clearence. I also took the PRT before I sent my package in. Will this help speed up the process. All I have left is MEPS I think or do I have to take the PRT again.

Good, then I think all that will need to happen is your MEPS physical and for that to be cleared.

What communities did you get Pro Rec'd for, and what are you wanting to do?

I fail to see how my pro-rec would have anything to do with your chances, unless of course I took the last remaining slot ;)

But seriously, the pro-rec is the biggest hurdle. Don't sweat the rest. But remember, you are about to join the ranks of the Navy, which means that it's time to hurry up and wait!

Do you have to go to MEPS again after you get Pro-rec'd? It would really blow to go back there.

MEPs physicals are generally valid for 2 years from what I've been told. I was processed through MEPs for an AF OCS app over a year ago (it was a back-up plan in case the Navy kept rejecting me! sue me. :icon_tong) and I was able to have that data forwarded on to the Navy med boards that review your final select info.

Granted there are then other concerns that need to be addressed. The AF enterance physical either did not test my eyes, or lost that data, and the Navy physical needed it. Had to get a eye test done out of pocket at a private optometrist and fax them the data. Also, your DD2807 sent in with the medical package has to be up-to-date. It's a medical history type form.

If you went to MEPS right before sending your package into the selections boards, then no, I don't think so. I went to MEPS before submitting my package to see what communities I was NPQ for.
I think some recruiting districts are starting to do the MEPS physical before submitting applicants' packages as SOP...but I could be wrong.

Mine did. I did MEPS and my JPAS before submitting my application. Let's hope it speeds the process.

Just don't celebrate completely until you finally swear in. Once you are in, its easier to solve problems (medical) than if you are just applying. Just enjoy the feeling of being selected but be humble about it.

Pro-Rec SNA with BDCP
I thought everybody had to have their physical and security paper work done before applying; my recruiter made me get that stuff done before I applied. I’m confused because other people were talking about getting MEPS done after being Pro-rec’d. Maybe it’s just my recruiting district.
