BDCP Sophomore

Hey all,
Been viewing the bdcp forum for a while now and I'm positive that I want to be a naval officer (naval aviator hopefully). I'm currently a sophomore at buffalo state and I was just wondering if now would be a good time to contact a recruiter or if it is too early?
Thanks in advance

It's always a good time to get started....

Applicants are eligble for BDCP up to 3 years before graduation for technical degrees, 2 years for all others. Your timing will depend on your anticipated graduation date and current major. Also, the application process is rather slow, so the sooner you get started the better. Make sure you talk to an officer recruiter, not just any recruiter......

For Naval Aviator, you have to be within 24 calendar months (ha, aviation bull****, just 24 months) of graduating. This means if you are a sophomore right now and plan on graduating in the spring of 2008, you can not turn in your application until you have your spring 2006 transcript sent to your officer recruiter. BDCP is such a great deal in my opinion, I am surprised it is even around. People I know have taken around a year to finish the process, but I have done it in two months. It is all a matter of motivation.

Tom is wrong. Nugget is right. Doesn't matter what designator you go into. If you are an engineeering major with outstanding grades, you can apply for any designator through the BDCP option three years prior to graduation. It is very competitive and not many guys make it that early. Call a recruiter today. He will tell you when and how to start the process. Call today!
