GO STATE!!!
Ok. Here's the deal. I'm an E-4 in the Navy Reserve. I have three PFA failures in the last four years. I know the regs and I am probably going to be discharged. My command chief told me it would be an honorable discharge, but with an RE code of 2 more than likely.
Now before all of you PT studs start ragging me, I am well aware of this being my responsibility to pass the PFA. I didn't fail by much. Each time it was the run that got me; just under a minute over my allowed time each time I ran; worst was 47 seconds over. However, I have been working very hard trying to get into shape as best I can whether or not I get discharged. Being a Naval Officer is all I have ever wanted for a career and I intend to keep trying for it as long as it takes. My recruiter has told me that I look good in every area of my package (being prior service, good ASTB scores, good GPA, etc.). And my service record is clean except for the PFA failures (i.e. good evals, always at drill, never late, extra ATs, etc.)
My question is, if I am squared away in all other areas of my package is it still possible for me to get into BDCP if I got a waiver for the RE code? (I know that I will have to do a PFA for my initial entry into BDCP if accepted and I know without a doubt that I will not only pass it but go way beyond the minimum scores.) Believe me I am that determined.
