Having solved all the Navy’s other problems, PERS is apparently now authorizing neatly trimmed beards in uniform . . . but only if you’re on the retired list.

At this point I swear they’re just trolling the people agitating online for authorized beards.

AF is on the verge of universal approval of 1/4" beards for officer and enlisted in all career fields, including tactical aircraft.

My father in law was twice an Army commander in Vietnam. He hated Zumwalt's beard policy for the hassle it caused the Army. Sailors were happy to show off their beards. If it didn't cause envy and slacking off shaving for the soldiers, it caused outright conflict between green and blue.
