Benefits of previous flight time

I jus wanna ply flane
I was hoping someone could tell me if having flight time before seeking a pilot spot is of beneift or not. I have approxiametely 160 hrs. single engine time and approximately 30 hrs. multi time and am working on becoming a CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) so there's a strong possibility I will acquire more hrs. between now and the time I apply. Will this give me any advantage over candiates without flight time (given our other credentials are relatively similiar of course).
