Boardman Oregon Bombing Range

Is the bombing range in Boardman Oregon still being used for flight training? Don't ever see or hear anything going on around there anymore. If it is still being used, how often?

Short answer...yes. We (Prowlers) use it pretty frequently. Someone, don't know who, does live fire exercises out there too.

its used quite a bit. There is a lot of UAV work that goes on out there. NUW stopped dropping there when the Intruders rode off into the sunset. Now the airspace above it is used more than the targets below.

Ah memories..... BOARDMAN! I remember back in the '60s, the Annual COMFAIRWHIDBEY "Buddy Bombing Derby"! Over Boardman, at altitude, an A-3 Skywarrior with an A-4 Skyhawk on each wing, in the clag.... "READY....READY....READY....HACK"! :tiger_125
