Col. Day was a Marine grunt in WWII, joined the Army Reserve after law school & then got called to flight training in the AF for the Korean War. Between then and Viet Nam, he managed to bag 4,500 hrs of fighter time. In addition to his extraordinary record as a pilot, officer & POW, after retirement he is the man who filed a class-action lawsuit against the U.S. federal government to keep it from forcing all military retirees into Medicare at age 65. My god, what a man and what a debt we all owe him. Just google his name and read with wonder, awe & gratitude. If anyone starts thinking he's some kind of big man, just read about Bud Day & sink into insignifigance.
