This is an ongoing thing here. We've actually had civilian investigators interupt our work day to ask us questions about the water. Needless to say bottled water sales are up around here.

I remember back in 1993 at HMT-204 we had Warning signs at the water fountains... something about the water containing hazardous chemicals or something or other.... I wonder if I ever made a copy of that letter for my medical record?

Wasn't NAS Fallon in the news for the same thing not too long ago?

Fallon has what is called a 'cancer cluster' because of a very high rate childhood leukemia in the area (it is astronomical compared to the nationwide rate). The CDC has done some work on it an here are some links, along with a newspaper page on it. As far as I know, no cause has been found for the cluster, though many people point to NAS as the culprit. We were verboten to dump fuel unless it was an emergency when flying there.
