SWO? What is this "SWO" you speak of?
Hey guys, a quick question...

I am not going into aviation but was wondering (just a curiosity of mine...) if I would be allowed take a flight as an Officer? I have always wanted to fly IN a jet, but with someone else piloting... A friend told me that the pilot would try to make me puke, but I consider that half of the point of the flight...seeing if I could take it. :)

The short answer is probably not. You have to be swim qual'ed, ejection qual'ed, etc. These guys go through INTENSIVE testing to be able to even fly in a jet. The next thing you're going to say is: "But, reporters..." Yeah, they do PR every so often. Are you a VIP? No... That's probably your answer.

You 'might' be able to, one day... don't hold your breath as a butterbar or even a JO...
