Hello all, I am new here and joined because I applied to Navy OCS on June 18 and found some great information on this site. I also wanted to see if anyone could give me a second opinion (other than my recruiter's) on my application package. I am new to this whole military thing and have no idea how this works so please bear with me.
Like I said I applied on June 18 but I have only heard back from one board, and it was only last week. I applied to SWO, Intel, and Supply Corps. Did not get in to the Supply Corps. My recruiter says it was because I put it as my third choice and they won't give a slot away to someone who is assumed to get picked for their first choice. He thinks there's no way I don't get picked up.
My package:
ASTB: 59 6/5/5
GPA: 2.952
Degree: Entrepreneurship and Business Finance
Letters: Restaurant manager, doctor, business professional, and a Naval Academy grad/current civilian pilot
Extras: Certified Raft Guide, PADI Advanced Diver, boating experience, construction, motorcycles, team sports, etc.
I cringe every time I think of my GPA: I had no goals in college. But does anyone think I have a chance? Or am I wasting my time waiting so long for results? I'm sure everyone has gone through this.
