Drinkin' Beer w/ your mom
I don't have a problem w/ Canucks, I've drank a lot of beer w/ em and a little moose milk... BUT why, at major sporting events do we have Canadians sing the National Anthem?!?!?! i.e lastnight at the Spurs Pistons game Alanis Morissette. And was it this year's or last year's Superbowl they had Celine Dion sing it? These people may be US citizens now and if they are I am talking outa my butt and will admit my mistake. I know somebody's going to give me grief for this thread!

My wife made a comment about that last night. Honestly, I didn't know Alanis Morissette was Canadian, but whatever. I don't have a problem with it at all. I would certainly rather listen to a Canadian perform an awesome and respectful rendition of our national anthem than one of our own citizens butcher it up, whether they mean to or not. I know I've heard several instances of the national anthem being performed awful in a large venue. I'm sure can can all think of at least one performance!!!

I have no doubt that Alanis holds this country in high regard. The American people have done a LOT for her and I'm sure she's grateful. Besides, that dude that sang God Bless America after 9/11, he wasn't an American citizen, was he?? I know, it's a different song, but it's relevant.

I say carry on Ms. Morissette!! And beat the crap out of Rosanne if you ever see her in the street!!

This is only my opinion, feel free to disagree.

I heard that she recently became a US citizen. I heard her on Loveline a couple years ago and she actually sounded like a pretty cool and reasonable chick - not all weird and angst ridden like her music might make you believe. Didn't she recently marry the "Van Wilder" guy?

So it seems I WAS talking from my butt and good point about the Roseanne thing.

BTW Moosemilk is like a Canadian version of a White Russian, I guess. Like a milkshake w/ a lot of liquor in it.

Now I'm just waiting for the hate email from the Canadians.

Alanis Morissette is a bit too liberal for my tastes. Good voice.

"When I was getting my immigration done, under American laws I was considered an 'alien with a special talent.' Er, thanks."

"Don't ever mistrust those voices in your head." hmmm, not a bad idea.

Looks like she will be on David Letterman and Good Morning America next week..... http://www.alanis.com/main.html (go to 'news')

If the folks at VH1 are to be trusted (hey, don't look at me like that!) I believe they are engaged (and have been for a while), but have not set a date yet. 'Course seeing that I get my news from "Best Week Ever," I could be mistaken. :p

isnt it ironic?
The only irony in that song is the fact that, despite many suggestions to the contrary, it contains no actual irony.
