Hey guys,

I've been searching hi and low for a thread someone put out awhile ago. It was a "To Do" list before reporting to API. If anyone has seen it, can you help a brotha out and post the link? Cheers! :)

I don't know about that list, but here's what I would do
1) Drink
2) Drink at the beach
3) Did I mention drink?

Thanks. I was talking more pre-API, not during API :) . But I appreciate the post.

I'd be willing to bet he was as well. From all of the "pre-api" stuff I've seen on this board it's all have fun before.

You're probably talking about BOLTC, NOMI, helmet fit, PFA/Swim Screen, and ORM course. But you can do all of that in between drinking.

You will pretty much be on about a 4-week beach/drinking haitus during the academic phase of API. Just expect it.

Get your pubs as soon as you can and start looking it over. Don't spend every waking moment in the books before API, but don't let Day 1 be the first time the books are opened.

When do they issue the books to you? Or do you buy them somewhere?

They're in the academic building, in the "Learning Resource Center" (small, hot closet area with a few broken computers and a circa-1980 microwave). You just take them and sign for them. Supposedly you can't pick them up until two weeks prior to your class or something, but some of the stashed ensigns I went through with had them for months. If you can't get them, for some reason, there are 1,000,001 butterbars in the area who have a stack of used API books collecting dust.

Don't forget to pick up your beach gear and beer after getting your books. You've got all the time in the world before you start to have fun.

Roger that. And by fun are you referring to Week O?
