CFI renewal

Anyone had to renew their CFI recently? I want to do it online and as quickly, painlessly, and cheaply as possible. If you've renewed lately what website did you use?

I used American Flyers, www.americanflyers.net. For $125 you get a lifetime renewal service, so every two years you don't have to repay like all the other websites. It's also pretty easy for an extra $25 they do all of the paperwork for you with the FSDOs once all of your stuff is submitted. The only drawback is you have mandatory study time. So what I would do is keep it open in the background and surf the web and do other things. I've done it twice with this service, I would recommend it.

I used Jeppesen, but that's only because I didn't know about americanflyers.net. It cost about the same, but that same fee applies every two years. No mando study time though. It's alot like CAI's where you can click through all the slides and just pass the test for each block.

125 bucks for lifetime renewal seems pretty sweet. Now I just have to wait for a break in the flight schedule to spend a day surfing the net and clicking through slides.
