USN Chances of being selected as an F18 pilot

I'm working on getting my application together for OCS (see my profile for details), but was curious about platform selection, when it happens, and what my odds are. From what I can gather it sounds like you find out what you'll be flying after API. I know you have a dream sheet but would like to hear from someone who has been through the process what the chances of getting what you request are. Obviously I'd be happy to fly just about anything, but flying the hornet is my ultimate goal. Is this a rare option or common designation?

Also I was curious what the flight time is like once in the fleet. How many hours/month do F18 pilots typically get? What platforms typically get the most flight hours?
