Chances of Being Selected for BDCP

I am currently starting my Junior year at the Florida Institute of technology as an Aviation Managment major. I am almost finished with my application packet for an SNA/NFO slot. I did well on the ASTB (8/8/8 60) and I have my commercial pilots license with an instrument and multi-engine rating (230 flight hrs). My GPA is 3.47, but my application does not show much leadership. I have some volunteer work, but no real leadership roles since graduating highschool. What are my chances of being selected for BDCP? Will having little leadership experience affect my acceptance?

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated!

Will having little leadership experience affect my acceptance?

It could. The best way to find out is to apply. In the meantime, why not work on that weak point by getting involved around school and the community? If you get declined on the first pass at the selection board you can resubmit with new activities and leadership positions. The question isn't necessary just about what you've done, but what you're doing.

Only the selection board knows and the only way to find out what they want is to apply. In my opinion your application looks strong in the numbers. Leadership definitely helps with it though because they are looking for well rounded individuals, but sometime they let someone like nugget slip through the cracks...

The advice above is solid. They are spot on... apply now. Hope for the best, if it does not work out, no worries. You now have new positions, a better GPA, more flight hours, etc. Keep applying until you hit the age limit, then get a waiver :) Good luck.
