Is there any advantage in checking in a day early, mainly in the afternoon the day before? If I were to check in at 0730 how far along the check sheet would I be before I get a room at the Q?

I would prefer to already have my little housing setup going before I start the arduous(sp) process of check-in.

-- my brain is a little fried right now, too many hours at the range today.

you get off of leave a day early (if you're on leave). and they'll tell you to come back the next day. then they'll check you in in a big group. If you get there a day early, there's no reason you can't go to the Q and get set up ahead of time (that i know of).

As you will realize..........sometimes, in the Navy, the only way to get things done "faster" is to show up for something early and hope to get added to a list.

As far as checking in.......I checked in to A-Pool the week before Christmas. I got to P-cola two days early and got all my stuff done and leave papers submitted before I was suppose to, which saved me time so that I could go on leave (the day after my original check in date).

I say..it never hurts to try to do stuff early....as long as it does not piss anyone off....and hell it makes the things more efficent sometimes

ENS,

You seem to be somewhat leary of taking some initiative. I've seen this in a couple of your posts. Take comfort in knowing that not everything must be approached using a checklist. If you want (and only if you're comfortable doing so), be a rebel and get your room at the Q BEFORE you check in. Bottom line, it doesn't matter.
